Marvelous Nakamba's Aston Villa Returns To Winning Ways, See Other Results
Aston Villa won 1-0 against visitors, Norwich City to secure all three points in an EPL match played on the Boxing day.
The Blue and Claret army got their goal in the second half from super-sub, Hourihane who replaced Warriors midfielder, Marvelous Nakamba in the 56th minute.
Norwich had looked the better side in the early stages of the match with Pukki and Byram both going close, while El Ghazi missed two opportunities to give Villa the lead before the interval.
The visitors then continued to apply pressure after the interval with Tettey and Trybull both seeing their efforts blocked in quick succession, but Hourihane’s sweeping effort then put Villa in front against the run of play following Grealish’s impressive build-up play.
Norwich pressed hard for an equaliser in the closing stages, with Hernandez going closest by seeing his thunderous close-range shot saved by Heaton, but Villa eventually held on for a much-needed victory.
