ZPCS Dismisses Prison Privitasation Rumours
Zimbabwe Prisons And Correctional Services has dispelled stories circulating that they may be herded towards privatisation following reports that they are having a hard time taking care of the inmates in their custody.
Daily News spoke to the Justice Minister’s permanent secretary Mrs Mabhiza who said:
We are working towards improving our prisons. Already we have an open prison, which caters for male prisoners, so we are looking at opening an open prison for female prisoners. There is no plan to privatise the prisons. We have 100 percent retention projects and this has seen a great improvement in our prisons. This has also helped to complement the work of the prisons
