Marry Chiwenga Set To Challenge Magistrate’s Court Decision In High Court Today

Marry Mubaiwa-Chiwenga, the estranged wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is today set to file an application at the High Court challenging the Magistrate’s court’s decision to deny her bail.

She is currently in remand prison until the 30th of December for illegally externalising US$1 033 000, laundering US$990 000 and fraudulently seeking to upgrade their customary union to a civil marriage without her husband’s consent as well as attempting to murder her husband, Chiwenga.

This was confirmed to ZBC News by Mubaiwa’s lawyer, Mr Taona Nyamakura of Mtetwa and Nyambirai Legal Practitioners, who said:

We wanted to file the bail application on Tuesday but could not because we failed to get the record of proceedings from the Magistrates Court together with the ruling, which we wanted to attach to our application.

We are, therefore, going to file it on Wednesday without those papers because we heard that some of the papers would only be available by Friday.

The former model and ex-wife of yesteryear Warriors forward, Shingi Kawondera was arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission on the 14th of this month.
