Harare-bound Intercape Bus Robbed At Gunpoint In Limpopo
An Intercape bus travelling from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Harare was attacked by a gang of eight armed robbers who stripped passengers of their cellphones, cash and jewellery.
The incident occurred near Kranskop tollgate on the N1 in Limpopo. South Africa Police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo revealed on Tuesday that the robbers, who pretended to be passengers, pointed guns at the bus driver and ordered him to stop the vehicle. He added:
It is still unclear where the two got in. After stopping, another vehicle coming from behind with more robbers got into the bus and started robbing everybody.
FeedbackThe bus company confirmed that the incident occurred around 11 pm on Saturday, December 7. It said in a statement:
This completely random, uncontrollable act by criminals masquerading as passengers is regretted by Intercape.
