‘ZACC Detectives’ Seize Marry Chiwenga’s 3 Minor Children

Beatrice Mtetwa, the lawyer representing Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s wife, Marry Chiwenga nee Mubaiwa, said a group of men who claimed to be detectives from the Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission (ZACC), took away the couple’s three children and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Mtetwa was speaking to the Daily News about what transpired on Saturday at the Chiwengas’ home when Marry was arrested. Said Mtetwa:

They also took away the couple’s three children and no one knows where they are right now.

But the laws of Zimbabwe are very clear that when a couple separates, the minors stay with their mother, but as it is, they have taken away Marry’s children from her.

Marry appeared at the Harare regional court on Monday morning where she was formally placed on remand on the charge of attempting to kill her husband.

The former model was initially charged with the externalization of US$1 million, fraudulently seeking to solemnise her marriage with neither Chiwenga’s knowledge nor consent and money laundering.
