ZIMRA ‘Seizes’ Mushekwi’s Caps United Bus, Demands Additional Duty Payment

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has resolved to take into its custody the luxurious bus bought by Nyasha Mushekwi for his former club Caps United.

Mushekwi confirmed the development but said he was not sure why ZIMRA had made the move after he cleared the bus with the authority when it was brought into the country. Said Mushekwi:

I just heard they (ZIMRA) are taking the bus, it’s quite disappointing, I don’t understand the situation because they were the ones who told me to pay the duty which I paid for the bus to be cleared to come home.

Now, I’m hearing they are saying the duty I paid wasn’t enough for a bus like the one I brought in and, maybe, they want me to pay more, I don’t really know.

Mushekwi bought the 45-seater bus in China for his old club as a “thank you” gift for the role it played in his career.

The Chinese-based striker flew from his base to clear the bus at the Beitbridge Border Post and then handed it over to CAPS United officials.

  1. This is shameful ZIMRA must respect what our fellow Zimbos do for the country and stop taking advantage of such developments. This will make Mushekwi lose his love for the country.

  2. Haaaa Zimra kwanai imi musaita semakamedza matuzvi embwa mhani Nxaaaaa. Ndochii ichocho. Kana makambopa bus iri exemption why reverse it all of a sudden. Why not let them use that bus while paying the balance you want in reasonable instalments. Zvimwe zvinongoda kuhwisisawo mhani bvisai matuzvi embwa mudumbu menyu makudo eZimra imi. Ndozvinokupai kufunga sanaBhoki nusatanyoko….ndini ndadero ini muDembare ndinobva kwaChivi futi. Mungandidiii

  3. We need to pray hard for this curse of (PHD) Pull Him Down syndrome to leave us. Zimbabwe will never Prosper with such mentality. We are really cursed as a nation. We always want to frustrate progress. God please help us!

  4. I am a diehard Dembare supporter but I am deeply disappointed byt what ZIMRA intends to do. If ZIMRA’s systems are not standardised they shouldnt victimise law abiding citizens like Nyasha. He did everything required by ZIMRA but it appears they now want to shift goal posts after the game is over. Its like paying lobola only for your inlaws to come to you a week later ssying they undercharged rusambo. It doesnt make sense
