Four Miners Feared Dead At Esikhoveni Mine

A cabin that was occupied by four gold miners employed at Esikhoveni Mine in Umzingwane district carved in on Tuesday morning, with fears that the four miners were all killed.

The accident was confirmed by the mine manager, Vessel Mpofu. He said the four were working inside a shade that was unknowingly established on a disused mine shaft when it collapsed all of a sudden at about 7:30 am.

The Civil Protection Department (CPD), How Mine’s rescue team and the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development officials were despatched to scene to help in rescue operations.
