"We're Not Turning Away Any Patients," Harare Central Hospital CEO

Harare Central Hospital Chief executive officer, Dr Tinashe Dobbie has dismissed as false reports suggesting that the medical institution has closed.

Speaking to the Herald, Dobbie said:

We are still operating below capacity because of staff shortages but we are not turning away any patients.

His remarks come after social media reports suggested over the weekend that the hospital was now turning patients away as it had closed.

The reports came when health caregivers in public health institutions have been on industrial action since the 3rd of September over unsustainable salaries with reports suggesting that some are already leaving the country for greener pastures whilst a handful have returned to work.
