Doctors Ordered Not To Sing 'MaSascam' Song

Police officers barred protesting doctors from singing a popular song with protestors which they direct at anti-riot police during marches, “Hatidi zvekupiwa order nema Sascam“, which literally means, “we won’t receive instructions from imbeciles”.

Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA) secretary-general Tawanda Zvakada told reporters that they were told to sing something else. He said:

Police told us to sing anything else not “Hatidi zvekupiwa order nema Sascam.

S.A.S.C.A.M stands for Salisbury Association for the Care of the African Mentally Handicapped. Salisbury was the name of Rhodesia’s capital, which was renamed Harare at independence in 1980

Doctors from public health institutions marched to the parliament building in Harare on Wednesday to deliver a petition to legislators.

The petition highlighted a number of grievances they need to be addressed as a matter of urgency to salvage the dire situation in public hospitals.
