Poverty On The Rise In Zimbabwe, ZimStat Numbers Confirm
Statistics published by the county’s statistical agency, ZimStart have further confirmed that poverty is on the rise in Zimbabwe Equity Axis reports.
According to the publication:
Statistics released by the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) show that the Total Consumption Poverty Line (TCPL) for an average of five persons per household stood at $3 160.00 in October 2019 a 44 per cent increase from $ 2 191.62 in September this year.
FeedbackThe Food Poverty Line (FPL) for one person in October 2019 was $271.00, a 53% increase from $176.61 in the previous month.
Zimstats statistics echo the social welfare’s ministry ‘s statistics that half the country registered are in need of food aid.
