The striking doctors have listed 10 issues of concern in the running of Public Hospitals and they include:
- The doctors’ salaries are eroded by inflation and the government is not adjusting their salaries to match the rising cost of living.
- The Govt is not paying UZ Clinicians their clinical allowances
- The currently proposed partnership between doctors and private partners is subject to corruption and it disadvantages patients
- Lack of equipment, drugs and broken or obsolete equipment
- ICU patients admission capacity reduction
- Standard Hospital procedures being replaced with dangerous experiments
- Micromanagement of hospitals
- Faulty referral systems
- Lack Of running water in hospitals
