The annual Zanu PF Congress will this year see the death of 150 beasts to provide relish for the ruling party supporters who will congregate at Goromonzi School this year, Newsday reports.
The party has already started collecting 67 pledged beasts from different stakeholders. This was confirmed by Zanu PF Mashonaland East provincial secretary for administration Kudzai Majuru who said:
After all the pledges, we have started collecting 67 beasts that we are assured of getting. Starting from today (yesterday), the truck is already moving around collecting the cattle to be kept at a paddock near the conference venue. We are happy with the progress so far and we are well on course as far as the preparations are concerned.
The congress will gabble up $5 Million to feed the 7000 guests. The ruling party is aiming to source 400 goats and 5000 chickens for the congress.
