Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Minister, Judith Ncube, said that the government will soon provide special buses to transport children so that they arrive at school and return home on time.
Ncube said this in a speech read on her behalf by Agnes Makoni, a deputy director in her office. She said:
The issues they [pupils] have raised at the provincial level which include the availing of special school buses for school pupils will soon be addressed.
The speech was given during the 4-H Zimbabwe Foundation organised debate on challenges faced by school pupils where Junior Parliamentarians and pupils from 10 schools from Bulawayo participated.
The overall winners during the debate were Christian Brothers College who received a trophy and $1 200 while Sizane High School and Gifford High School came second and third respectively and were awarded $800 and $500.
