Auxillia Mnangagwa Snubs Launch Of Illegal Plastics Company

The first lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa snubbed the launch of a recycling firm, Reborn Plastics, which is located at an undesignated land in Houghton Park, Harare.

Zim Morning Post reports that the recycling company is situated on a wetland and did not get the green light from the Environmental Management Authority (EMA).

Residents who spoke to the publication opined that the invitation of Mrs Mnangagwa to the launch was meant to endorse its illegal endeavours.

EMA spokesperson, Amkela Sidange, told Zim Morning Post that the recycling plant was illegal adding that the company’s initial application was rejected before the firm re-applied with another name. She added:

The site plan was rejected at prospective level.
So, we did not get to EIA (Environment Impact Assessment) certificate level.
