Govt To Recruit Doctors To Replace Those It Is Firing

The government will soon commence the recruitment of doctors to replace the 448 who have been fired for absenteeism.

This was revealed by the Minister for Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa during a post-cabinet media briefing on Tuesday. She said:

Regarding the recruitment of doctors, the Ministry of Health and Child Care will publish before the end of this week, an advert in the press for all posts that have become vacant as a result of these disciplinary cases.

Mutsvanga had earlier disclosed that the total number of junior and middle-level doctors who have been fired now stands at 448.

She added that 508 disciplinary cases were heard by 25 November 2019, and an additional 43 doctors from the provinces are awaiting hearings.

  1. Our government is incapable of learning! And what will the government pay the doctors they recruit? Are there doctors willing to come to Zimbabwe to work for a paltry salary?

  2. This is stupidity at its best. This government will face the same problem with the newly recruited doctors. We want serious leaders please!!

  3. 😂😂😂😂 from where? Who in his right mind will come here for US$80 per month. Does the government know the least paid Dr in the region is above US$2000. Ofcause the minister of health wouldnt know, he was never a Dr.
