Bulawayo School Registers 100 Per Cent Pass Rate

A Roman Catholic Church-run school, St Thomas Aquinas Primary School, registered the highest Grade 7 2019 public examinations pass rate in Bulawayo Province.

The school attained 100 per cent pass rate in all five subjects, with the head of the school, Cuthbert Chiromo, attributing the success to teamwork. He said:

I subscribe our success to teamwork, the teachers are very committed and they have done very well and the support we get from the board of governors, the parents and the input by the pupils themselves because you can take a horse to the river but you cannot force it to drink.

Bulawayo was the best performing province nationally once again, having come up on top in 2018.

This was revealed by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Tumisang Thabela on Tuesday during the ministry`s strategic planning review workshop.
