Unknown Assailant Rapes And Stabs South Africa College Student 52 Times

A female South African college student, Precious Ramabulana (21), has reportedly died after an unknown assailant stabbed her 52 times after he sexually assaulted her.

Police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo confirmed the incident saying that the suspect who is still at large gained entrance through the window around 0230 hours on Sunday. Without revealing the number of times Ramabulana was stabbed, Mojapelo said:

He then stabbed her several times and fled from the scene. The deceased’s frantic screams were heard by a neighbour, who called the police.

The development comes a few weeks after South African courts found Luyanda Botha guilty of rape and murder charges and sentenced to three life terms after he raped and killed a 19-year-old South African student Uyinene Mrwetyana.

South African women have expressed frustration over the sentence saying that as long as it was not a death penalty, the sentence was not enough considering the gravity of the offences committed.

The sad development happens when the world has embarked on a campaign meant to eliminate violence against women and girls.
