Updated: Govt Renames Streets In Harare & Bulawayo

Cabinet has reportedly approved the renaming of several roads in Harare during a cabinet meeting held on Thursday.

This was revealed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Ndavaningi Mangwana. Here are the new names:

NEW HARARE STREET NAMES:

  1. Enterprise Road – ED Mnangagwa
  2. Selous Avenue – John Landa Nkomo
  3. Cameron Street – Joseph Musika
  4. Kirkman Drive – Solomon Mujuru
  5. Livingstone Avenue – Oliver Tambo
  6. Charter Road – Fidel Castro
  7. Five Avenue – Leonid Brezhnev
  8. Angwa Street – Seretse Khama
  9. Baines Avenue – Herbert Ushewokunze
  10. Argyle Road – Sydney Malunga
  11. Dieppe Road – Vitalis Zvinavashe
  12. Rezende Street – Julia Zvobgo
  13. The Chase – Sikwili Moyo Street
  14. Blackstone Street – Joseph Culverwell
  15. Quendon Drive – Edison Zvobgo Drive

NEW BULAWAYO STREET NAMES:

  1. 6th Avenue – ED Mnangagwa
  2. 9th Avenue – SV Muzenda
  3. 4th Avenue – John Landa Nkomo
  4. 12th Avenue – Joseph Msika
  5. 5th Avenue – Maria Msika
  6. 10th Avenue – Nikita Mangena
  7. Fife Street – Queen Lozikeyi
  8. Collenbrander – Lookout Masuku
  9. Connaught Avenue – Cephas Cele
  10. 13th Avenue to include Anthony Taylor Ave – Clement Muchachi
  11. 14th Avenue – George Nyandoro
  12. Doncaster Road – Sikanjaya Muntanga
  13. Vic Falls Road – Mosi-Oa-Tunya Road
  14. 23rd Avenue – Jairos Jiri Avenue
  15. 11th Avenue – Daniel Madzimbamuto

    I feel in the future these streets will be recorrected
