State Withdraws Treason Charges Against Pastor Evan

The state has withdrawn its case against local clergyman and political activist Evan Mawarire Pindula has learnt. This was publicized by Pastor Evan himself when he tweeted:

After almost 11 months of detention on bail the state has withdrawn their fake treason charges. We should never have been arrested to begin with. Thank you for yo prayers & support. We keep speaking up for the abused & vulnerable of our country @ZLHRLawyers @AmnestySARO @HRF

Mawarire is one of the 20+ people who were charged with treason in 2019 only. Evan was charged after he was seen in a video calling for Zimbabweans to stay away in protesting fuel price hike in January together with ZCTU President Peter Mutasa.
