Anti-Riot Police Uses Tear Gas To Disperse MDC Supporters
Anti-riot police has reportedly used tear gas to disperse MDC supporters who had gathered for the Hope Of the Nation Address at their party headquarters. This was revealed by Hopewell Chin’ono who shared this tweet.
The @UN Security Update system is reporting that Police have started using tear smoke to disperse the gathered crowd at the venue of the MDC supporters. Nelson Mandela Avenue is currently blocked off by police barricades between Angwa St. and First St. #ZimNotReadyForDemocracy
The MDC planned to have their HONA in Harare but were prohibited by the police. They then posted a video saying they will have the HONA at their party headquarters and invited citizens to come. The Police were seen blocking the road and looking on as MDC supporters chanted songs before the video abruptly cut.
