ZANU PF politburo member and prominent lawyer, Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana, has dismissed claims by Jealousy Mawarire that he acted as the legal advisor alongside MDC official Douglas Mwonzora, to military generals during Operation Restore Legacy.
Speaking to Zim Morning Post on Tuesday about the remarks attributed to Mawarire (spokesperson of the National Patriotic Front), Mangwana said:
On what basis could the general consult me legally or the national army; they are too big for me.
Mawarire sensationally claimed on Monday that Mangwana and Mwonzora were consulted by the ailing Vice President Chiwenga during Operation Restore Legacy, a euphemism for the military coup that overthrew the late President Robert Mugabe.
Mangwana castigated Mawarire as someone seeking attention and political relevance.
