Violent Storms Destroy Property In Some Parts Of The Country

Deadly storms have wreaked havoc in parts of the country the Daily News reports. The storms which are coming after a drought have left a trail of destruction in places like Lupane where a grade 1 pupil died due to the storms and in Chimanimani where classrooms were destroyed including a tent sheltering cyclone Idai survivor being uprooted by the storm.

2 schools in Gwanda were also reported to have been destroyed by the rain. Kweekwe Civil protection unit also confirmed that 3 schools and 8 homesteads were also destroyed by the storm.

A school in Zhombe’s roof was destroyed and 2 schools in Silobela were also destroyed. The trail of destruction is coming after the Met Services Department warned that the rains were possibly going to be violent when they start.
