The ZRP has banned the MDC rally that was scheduled to take place in Domboshave this weekend. The latest ban is the second one this week as ZRP claims MDC had not complied with some POSA provisions hence the meeting could not go ahead.
A response issued by the officer commanding Murehwa District to the MDC read:
Thank you for writing to my office, but be informed that the notice does not comply with the requirements of Section 24 and 25 of the Public Order and Security Act, Chapter 1:17 which governs public gatherings,
The ZRP across the country has been issuing prohibition notices to MDC planned gatherings for various reasons.
