Musona To Brush Off Anderlecht Woes And Lead Warriors Cavalry

Warriors captain Knowledge Musona is not worried that his failure to play for his Belgian club Anderlecht this season may negatively affect his performances for the national team.

During his time at Bundesliga side Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft 1899 Hoffenheim (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim), Musona did not play regularly but performed well when he played for the Warriors. He said:

I have been training with the (Anderlecht) team 100 per cent, so I am not worried.

I remember when I was in Germany, I was not playing football but I came here and played for the national team and there was no problem.

So, I expect the same because I was not just seated. I was training, normal training just like the other players.

Musona is among a legion of foreign-based players assembled by Joey Antipas though Tinotenda Kadewere and Macauley Bonne pulled out on medical grounds.

Zimbabwe locks horns with Botswana as the two nations start their 2021 AFCON qualifying campaign at the National Sports Stadium on Friday evening.
