"MDC MPs To Boycott Budget Presentation If ED Comes"

South Africa-based academic and researcher Pedzisai Ruhanya has said that opposition MDC legislators will boycott today’s budget presentation if president Emmerson Mnangagwa attends the event.

The MPs who have previously walked out of Parliament as Mnangagwa was delivering the State of the Nation Address say that the President is not legitimate arguing that in connivance with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), he stole the 2018 presidential elections.

Posting on Twitter, Ruhanya said:

MDC MPs to boycott budget presentation @1445hrs today if ED comes to Parliament because the opposition says it doesn’t recognize his presidency.

Some observers have previously castigated the conduct of the MDC legislators who only attend Parliament sessions when there are financial and material gains for themselves.

Recently, some members of the public castigated their participation in the pre-budget sessions held in the luxurious resort town of Victoria Falls when the country is said to have a huge financial deficit and when they have often criticised the government for wasting resources.
