Suspected Sand Poachers Murder Man At Masowe Shrine

A man believed to be from the Border Gezi Housing Co-operative was found dead close to skyline toll gate along the Harare-Masvingo Highway on Sunday morning.

The deceased’s corpse was tied on a tree at a Masowe Shrine. Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident. He said:

I can confirm that a man was found dead at a Masowe Shrine close to the skyline toll gate. Police are still making investigations on the matter.

Residents from Border Gezi suspect that the man was murdered by sand poachers who operate close to their residences.

The residents appealed to authorities to assist them as they are now living in fear of the sand poachers.
