"I Wish The New Currency Comes As Soon As Yesterday"As Cash Crisis Lingers
Some Zimbabwean citizens have bemoaned the shortage of cash when some shops are demanding cash only for their commodities.
They told ZBC News that they had resorted to using electronic money for transactions since cash is not available in banks and also considering that Ecocash Agents are charging without the system. One farmer had this to say:
I wish the new currency comes as soon as yesterday because I have had enough of these profiteering shops.
FeedbackFor us farmers who get transfers, it is particularly difficult to get cash.
Meanwhile, the government has announced that it will introduce new $2 and $5 notes as a way to address the prolonged cash crisis.
