Gold Panner Shot Dead By Gold Dealer In Bindura

A prominent gold dealer in Bindura town, Kudzanai Kangara, shot dead one of four gold panners who had visited his office intending to sell their gold.

Zimbabwe Republic Police Mashonaland Central Provincial Acting Spokesperson Sergeant Tonny Nyandoro confirmed the incident. He said:

We have heard of that incident as it was reported to the police. One person died on the spot but investigations are currently underway. We will update you as investigations unfold.

Reports allege that the four gold panners had a misunderstanding with one of Kangara’s employees resulting in the fatal shooting.

The other three gold panners fled the scene following the shooting. The deceased’s body is still at Bindura General Hospital mortuary since October 15.
