Chamisa 'Closely Watching' Developments In ZANU PF,

MDC president Nelson Chamisa said that he is closely watching the resurgent factional fights in the ruling ZANU PF party, with the G40 having seemingly risen from the ashes of the 2017 coup.

Speaking in a video he recorded on Facebook, Chamisa said his party is tightening the screws so that when it does what ought to be done, there won’t be a problem. He said:

We are watching what is happening. We are very clear about the developments. We also know in Zanu PF, there are developments there. We are closely watching. Action is coming, but action will only come when we have done what has to be done.

After losing a Constitutional Court challenge to have the 2018 presidential election nullified, Chamisa has refused to recognise President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s incumbency.

He has also scoffed at the State House Dialogue, the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD), a negotiations platform initiated by Mnangagwa to accommodate all the losers in the election.
