Farmer Approaches Court To Save Property From ZANU PF's Chinotimba

A Chipinge farmer, Thomas Hazvienzani Mbanje, has approached the courts in an endeavour to try and stop the attachment of his farm equipment by ZANU PF legislator for Buhera South, Joseph Chinotimba.

Chinotimba who is owed a debt of US$65 755 by Sunny Zimbabwe International intends to attach 16 macadamia nuts driers which he thinks are owned by a Chinese company Sunny Zimbabwe International.

However, Mbanje has said that the driers belong to him and not the company in question. His court papers read:

I accordingly beseech the court for an order declaring my right to lease third respondent (Ministers) property is sufficient to cause the setting aside of any sale or execution of the leased property on account of the order in HC9772/2018.

It is said that in February 2018, the company bought Chinotimba’s macadamia nuts for US$220 000 payable the following month but the Chinese firm managed to pay US$154 000, leaving a balance of US$65 000.
