WATCH: Mthuli Ncube Says There Is NO New Currency Coming, Only Additional Bond Notes & Coins

Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube says the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is NOT about to introduce a new currency but will add new bond notes and coins to deal with the liquidity crunch and make cash readily available.

Ncube moved swiftly to clarify a statement by RBZ chief John Mangudya who had been quoted as saying that a new currency will be introduced within the next two week.

The Zimbabwe dollar is already in existence in the form of bond notes and coins plus RTGS dollar balances and these will remain as legal tender.
