Highlanders, ZPC Kariba Reach Chibuku Super Cup Semi-finals

Highlanders FC and ZPC Kariba on Sunday both progressed to the Chibuku Super Cup semifinals after beating FC Platinum (FCP) and Manica Diamonds respectively.

Bosso beat FCP 3-0 with goals coming from Prince Dube, Denzel Khumalo and Tinashe Makanda.

Dube converted a penalty in the 11th minute followed by Denzel Khumalo fired home from outside the box to double Tshilamoya’s lead on 25 minutes.

Victory was sealed by Mkanda in the 88th minute. By then, FCP had been reduced to 10 men after Lawrence Mhlanga received his second booking on 60 minutes.

At Vengere Stadium, ZPC Kariba came from behind to knockout debutants Manica Diamonds on a 2-1 scoreline.

Stanely Ngala scored for the Gem Boys in the 13th minute but his strike was cancelled out by Godknows Gwara just after the half-hour.

James Marufu converted from the spot two minutes before the break to put Kariba ahead. Manica Diamonds’ Takunda Jeffrey missed from the penalty spot in the 85th minute following a handball by Marufu inside the box.
