On the same day that some Zimbabweans marched against trade and travel embargos imposed on Zimbabwe by the US and the EU, the US announced that it will be adding one more person to the list of persons who are targeted by the embargos.
The matter came to light after US state secretary for state, Mike Pompeo Tweeted:
Today, I publicly designated Owen Ncube for his involvement in a gross violation of human rights in Zimbabwe. State-sanctioned violence in Zimbabwe must end now and those responsible for human rights violations must be held accountable
The government is yet to respond to this latest development. A total of 141 entities and individuals are on the targeted sanctions list for various reasons chief among them human rights violation crimes.
