Man Lies In Court To Save His Fellow Gang Members - Report

A packed courtroom was stunned this past week in Bulawayo as a man who had admitted to breaking in numerous homes and stealing property worth $120K+ denied that the men he was arrested with were his accomplices the Chronicle reports.

Tawanda Gumbomunda went on to tell the court that the police arrested the wrong people. The investigating officer, however, stood his ground and told the court that the accused actually stay together in a Bulawayo suburb.

Your Worship, accused number one is trying to protect his friends. They stay together in Cowdray Park that’s where I found them with their house fully packed with stolen property. They have many pending cases of unlawful entry and theft.

Housebreaking and robbery cases have risen in the country as economic meltdown bites.
