EU Releases US$60 Million For Zimbabwe’s Health Sector

The European Union (EU) has availed an additional US$60 million under its National Indicative Programme in support of Zimbabwe’s health sector. In a statement on Friday, EU ambassador Timo Olkkonen said:

US$43 million will support public health service delivery by strengthening primary care systems, capacitating human resources for health and enhancing community participation while US$18 million will support households and communities in vulnerable situations across the country by increasing their capacities to respond to food and nutrition security shocks.

With this top-up, the European Union increases its support to the Zimbabwean population, which now reaches US$320 million under the National Indicative Programme for the period 2014-2020.

This assistance comes at a critical time to support the people, who are facing difficult socio-economic times.

  1. A good gesture by EU but unfortunately Zanu will steal all these US dollars and convert them to useless RTGS and use the real dollars for their overseas treatment and globetrotting on private jets.

  2. Big mistake that will be the money they need to replace the money they spent on chicken and chips at their dumb as demonstration the health sector will be lucky to see the cardboard boxes and chicken bones left over

  3. Big mistake sending money. Rather send actual medicine etc.
The people in control are so corrupt and such liars. When will the UN
Wake up….or, are they also so corrupt?
