Dutch Ambassador Launches Rembrandt @350 Art Exhibition At The National Art Gallery
The Dutch Ambassador on Thursday officially launched the Rembrandt @350 art exhibition at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Daily News reports. The 3 weeks exhibition is to celebrate the life and work of a Dutch icon Rembrandt van Rijn’s who died 350 years ago in 1669.
Speaking to the publication, the Dutch ambassador Barbra van Hellenmond said:
We are excited to bring the global celebrations of Rembrandt to Zimbabwe and this is the only event in Africa among more than 60 events in the world.
FeedbackFor this event we asked artists to take the work of Rembrandt and recreate it in their own style, possibly incorporating local and modern themes and techniques
The exhibition will be in Harare for 3 weeks before it moves to the Bulawayo Gallery.
