The Hospital Service Board (HSB) has said disciplinary hearings for doctors will still go ahead despite the fact that the doctors were in no show. This was revealed by the HSB Chairmain Dr Sikhosana who said:
What you have to understand is the Health Services Board is following the right procedure and the procedure stipulates that the disciplinary hearings have to go ahead whether the doctors are present or not. So, even if they decide not to come, like they have said, we are still going ahead with the hearings and the outcome will determine their fate.
Doctors were called for disciplinary hearings this week and they refused, saying they were not doing anything wrong by demanding a fair wage and didn’t show up for the disciplinary hearings.
