First Lady Suggests Measures To Prevent Early And Unintended Pregnancies.

The first lady of Zimbabwe, Auxillia Mnangagwa has said that education can be used to prevent early and unintended pregnancies.

Speaking at the launch of the Unesco led Let’s Talk Campaign at Makomo Primary School in Epworth where she, as the guest of honour, the first lady said:

We need to use education as a tool for pregnancy prevention by making sure that all young people have access to comprehensive sexuality education, to help them abstain, delay sexual activities, negotiate for safer sex, among other protective skills and behaviour.

The first lady said that schools must start teaching students about sexuality at a tender age so as to equip them against early and unwanted pregnancies.

Her remarks come when the country is reported to have recorded a huge number of primary and secondary school dropouts between due to pregnancies lately.
