Zim Dollar Expected To Largely Stabilize Next Year - Report

A UK think tank Economic Intelligence Unit has forecasted that the Zim dollar will stabilise next year. The Sunday Mail reports.

The think tank reportedly said the currency would fall to an average $16 against US dollar next year due to suppressed demand through limited access to the currency would continue to temper with the rapid depreciation.

The Sunday Mail wrote:

According to EIU, the domestic currency would then firm to an average of $10 against the greenback in 2021, and to an average of 6,1 the following year, as inflation moderates, exports increase and the country starts realising more foreign direct investment.

This will largely be influenced by growing confidence in the domestic currency according to the publication. 2019 saw the Zim dollar rapidly becoming weaker than the US $ mainly due to a myriad of reasons.
