The Zimbabwe Ex-Prisoners Development Aid Launches Income Generating Projects For Ex Prisoners
In a bid to help ex-prisoners integrate into the society, ZEPDA has launched a training initiative that will see ex-prisoners being eqquiped with income-generating skills to help them once they are released from prison.
This was revealed by ZEPDA chairman Mr Dickson Sibanda last week when he said:
We as ZEPDA are there to complement Government efforts to comply with the DOHA Declaration which advocates for prisoners’ rights upon realising that ex-prisoners suffer from stigma after release, therefore these projects are there to improve their well-being and integrating them into the society.
FeedbackSome ex-prisoners find their way back into the pens after release for various reasons.
