One of the 11 vendors arrested and assaulted by police last week, Hilton Tafadzwa Tamangani, has died in police custody.
The court was yet to rule on his bail application after the matter was this week postponed for a second time.
The deceased was arrested with 10 others for allegedly assaulting a police officer at the Chicken Inn at Kwame Mall located at Kwame Nkrumah and Julius Nyerere.
It is further alleged that the accused fled towards Robinson House upon the arrival of police reinforcements. They were later found at Robinson House, the same building where police and Harare City Council police helmets were later found.
The lawyers representing the accused said that they were innocent people who were just found in the wrong place and time.
