Nurses Resolve To Report For Duty Once Per Week

Nurses at public health facilities have resolved to report for duty one day per week due to incapacitation.

This was revealed by Zimbabwe Professional Nurses Union (ZPNU) secretary-general Douglas Chikobvu, who argued that nurses will not continue subsidising the government. Said Chikobvu:

We as nurses are going to implement the one day per week initiative since the government has failed to address our plight to levels where we can feel capacitated.

Nurses have sat down and agreed to work one day per week so that we stop subsidising our employer.

Nurses have hitherto been going to work two or three times a week after the government gave them the green light to do so several months ago.
