A female police detective in Marondera died mysteriously at her boyfriend’s house on Monday.
Detective Constable Antonete Silopa (25) was declared dead upon arrival at Marondera Provincial Hospital.
The boyfriend has been identified as Artwell Mafukidze (38) of Elmswood Park, where the tragedy took place.
According to NewsDay, the two drank beer at Cosco Sports Diner on Monday from around 2 pm until around 9 pm when they left for home with the now-deceased behind the wheel.
Silopa reportedly dropped off Mafukidze at his place before driving to her own home.
However, around 11 pm, Silopa returned to Mafukidze’s place where she crashed her Honda Fit on a water tank, disembarked from the car staggering and collapsed. She reportedly told Mafukidze that she had drunk poison.
