The headmaster at Malungudzi High School in Beitbridge East, Tavonga Gwabuya, is being investigated by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for allegedly s_xually abusing 5 girls at the school.
One of the girls reportedly wrote an anonymous letter to the Ministry of Education in which she narrated how the School Head routinely abuses the girls. The letter reads in part:
He [Mr Gwabuya] calls us girls to his office and asks us to sweep his office and one of us is told to go throw away rubbish. He locks the door and starts abusing us if you remain in the office. He says don’t tell people because that will affect his job (sic).
The girl revealed that she and other pupils are now afraid of going to the headmaster’s office.
The school head was said to be away from the institution when the Chronicle paid a visit last Friday, with the Provincial Education Director, Lifias Masukume, confirming receiving the report.
