G40 Accused Of Vote-buying Ahead Of ZANU PF Internal Polls

Some senior ZANU PF officials in Harare have been accused of vote-buying ahead of Saturday’s District Co-ordinating Committee elections.

Zim Morning Post was told that Generation 40 (G 40) functionaries, among them former Mbare legislator Tendai Savanhu, are working with former ZANU PF political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere to capture the electorate, with huge sums of money exchanging hands. Said the publication’s sources:

It is disheartening that there are some people who are still working with G 4O, particularly Kasukuwere ( Saviour). We all know that he is funding Dhaka and Damson.

The DCC’s were banned in 2012 by the then Zanu PF first secretary, the late Robert Mugabe as they had become the battlefield for the party’s perennial factional fights.

Meanwhile, the party’s national political commissar Victor Matemadanda recently warned party members who will be caught offside that they will be expelled from ZANU PF.
