Econet Subscribers Incensed By Incessant Sasai Promo Messages

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), said that it has taken note of members of the public’s complaints about incessant SMSes from Cassava Smartech.

Cassava, an offshoot of Econet Zimbabwe, has over the past several weeks been sending messages to Econet subscribers promoting its newest product, the Sasai Application. In response to complaints expressed through Twitter, POTRAZ said:

We have taken note of the numerous complaints and views from consumers on the continuous receipt of the SASAI SMS.

We are engaging the service provider and will communicate further developments.

Econet group media relations executive, Fungai Mandiveyi, didn’t answer his mobile phone on Wednesday night when contacted for comment by The Herald. He also did not respond to questions sent via WhatsApp by the publication.
