Failure To Access Coal To Incinerate Medical Waste May Just Plunge Masvingo Into A Health Crisis – Report

The staff at Masvingo General Hospital are reportedly disposing medical waste in a manner that may cause a serious health crisis for the city Newsday reports.  The reason behind this shocking piece of information is because the hospital is failing to access coal to properly incinerate waste.

A source that spoke to NewsDay said:

What is happening at the hospital is pathetic, it indeed is a health hazard, especially to the person responsible for incineration of waste at the institution who has to resort to using latex gloves instead of heavy duty gloves for handling the waste.

It is reported that the medical waste is pilled outside the hospital where the hospital truck will then clear it off and dump it.
