Chief Fined For Negligent Driving And Driving Without A License

A Binga Chief, Chief Dobola, was fined $800 for driving without a license and crushing the government’s vehicle that he got last year Sunday News Reports.

According to the publication Chief Dobola, real name Edward Munkombwe, was travelling alone when the crash occurred:

..On 11 October 2018 at about 7am, Munkombwe was driving an unregistered Isuzu double cab pick-up along Tinde-Pashu Road with no passengers on board.The court heard that when he reached the 23km peg, he lost control resulting in the vehicle veering off the road and hitting a tree before overturning. Munkombwe sustained minor injuries and was ferried to Kamativi Clinic where he was treated and discharged

Driving without a license is a serious offence in Zimbabwe. The Chief was fined $400 for each count and was suspended from driving for a month.
