ZESA Embarks On A Cocktail Of Measures To Recover Debts

ZESA has embarked on a number of measures to recover debts owed by various institutions and households. The power utility company had decided to blacklist, instal prepaid meters among other measures to ensure that defaulters pay their dues.

ZESA spokesperson said this to the Herald:

The power utility is taking various measures that include blacklisting, installation of prepayment meters for domestic consumers and small institutions, installation of smart meters for medium and large power users that consume 100 amps and above.

We are also resorting to disconnections and litigation against such defaulters to recover the revenue that is locked with them

The power utility is reportedly owed 1 billion by defaulters.

  1. But the old ZanuPF clique of fatcats and ‘farmers’ will not get a visit from Zesa. It will be the povo who will be switched off for a debt of ZWL$200. Zesa, like all current ministers who are incapable of fixing Zims’ problems, is just showcasing.
