During a cleanup campaign in Gwanda yesterday, VP Modadi took the time to tell councils that they needed to completely overhaul their water and sewer systems as they had been outgrown by current city and town populations.
Speaking to the Herald The VP said:
The problem that we have when it comes to the environment is that the population in towns has increased and the water and sewer reticulation systems can no longer serve the people sufficiently. Municipalities are, therefore, urged to overhaul their sewer and water systems so they can be able to service the people.
The VP also emphasised about the need to keep cities clean and urged EMA and the ZRP to punish offenders who vandalise the city through littering.
